It's Graduation Season
Graduate,
Today is the coronation of 4 years of hard word and sacrifices, ups and downs, highs and lows.
Today we celebrate your accomplishments. We are proud of you and you should be proud of yourself.
You are here because of your hard work and because of the sacrifices of many others, including your parents, teachers, and staff members. Take time to thank those who walked alongside you during these past four years, trusted in you and invested in you.
Whether your High School experience has been great or not so great, it is now behind you. You've learned a lot, and above all, you've learned about yourself. Now, it's time to move on to a whole new level in your education. Joys and challenges lay ahead.
To succeed in your College education, you will need all the qualities and strength you used during your High School years, and above all, you will need new skills adapted to the college environment.
Rule # 1. Manage your time well. Time management is key number 1. More free time on your schedule means more responsibility in planning and executing.
Rule # 2. Get involve in different clubs. Ostracism is does not guarantee productivity or success in college. Join as many clubs as you can as early as possible and then find the ones you like. Then, become an active member of the ones you choose.
Rule #3. Work hard. College is first and foremost a sanctuary for higher education. You are responsible of what you learn. So, learn as much as you can.
Rule # 4. Have fun. College is also a place you should enjoy with friends. Develop friendship and bounds that will endure long after you graduate.
Rule # 5. Plan to graduate. College does not last for ever. Choose a major that can land you a sustainable job. College is not a career. It prepares for a career.
Lean from your mistakes in High School and prepare to succeed in college. You have what it takes to succeed.
